Mykola Matsenko


Born in 1960 in Prutivka, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He graduated from the Taras Shevchenko Republican Art School and the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts. He lives and works in Cherkasy and Kyiv. Matsenko began exhibiting in the Skew Caponier project in 1992. Together with Oleg Tistol, as part of the Natsprom program, he created the projects Atatürk Museum, 17th of September, Museum of Architecture, the sculptural series The Head, and the photographic series Baryshevka Frontons and Mother of Cities. He is the author of the personal projects Buy Ukrainian, Roses and Grapes, Square to Each Hut!, and Neofolk and the so-called heraldic series Gifts of Fields, Culture, and Not yet…
