Tiberiy Silvashi


Born in 1947 in Mukachevo in the Transcarpathian region. He graduated from the Taras Shevchenko Republican School of Arts and the Kyiv State Art Institute. In the 1980s he was one of the originators of the so-called New Wave gathering of the future greats of Ukrainian art at the famed open-air session in Sednev. Silvashi was the spiritual leader and the head of Pictorial Reserve, a 1990s association of abstractionists for whom color was the main instrument and central to their painting.
