20 March 2018

On March 21, Golden Section auction house opens an exhibition Painting Reserve. The Golden Period. Painting Reserve art group emerged in the early 1990s and wrote a remarkable page in the history of Ukrainian contemporary art. The group concentrated on researching non-figurative painting and coloristics. The organizers of “reserve” were Tiberiy Silvashi, Oleksandr Zhyvotkov, Marko Geyko, Anatoliy Kryvolap, and Mykola Kryvenko – notable representatives of contemporary art, each working in his own style. In different years other artists also joined Painting Reserve.

The exhibition presents about 30 canvases, which were created by key authors of the art group in 1990-1999. “This selection is unique because after many years we managed to collect the works by five geniuses of Ukrainian contemporary art during the period of Painting Reserve prime. We have also managed to present works which have never been exhibited before and remained only in private collections for a long time,” says Stanislav Skoryk, exhibition curator. The exhibition will become the first project in 15 years dedicated to the art group.

The exhibition will be open until April 14.
