At New Now Phillips Auction in December All of Ukrainian Works Were Sold

On the 8th of December winter sale of Phillips' New Now auction took place in London. There were 244 lots put up for sale, 6 of them – by Ukrainian artists. All of the Ukrainian lots found their buyers. Especially successful was Colossus which Awakens by Egor Zigura. With estimate £4000 – 6000 the sculpture was sold for £20 000. Ukrainian sculpture was popular in London among the collectors. Above the highest estimate which was £8000 was sold The Space Around by Nazar Bilyk. The sculpture was sold for £9375.

Two works by Roman Minin were sold within the estimate: Generator of Donetsk Subway with £6000 – 8000 estimate was sold for £7500 and All for Vita with £2000 – 3000 estimate was sold for £2750.  

The landscape by Anatoly Kryvolap who is the most expensive Ukrainian contemporary artist was also sold within its £12 000 — 18 000 estimate. The painting Evening Lake was sold for £17 500.

Sales of Ukrainian fit in general results of winter round of New Now auctions. Most of the lots were sold within estimate. And top-lot – work by Gerhard Richter Grün Blau Rot 789-5 — exceeded the highest estimate only by £27 000 and was sold for £227 000.
