The “Monochromia” exhibition

02 March 2016

From the 27th of February to the 23rd of March two halls of the Diehl gallery in Berlin will host the “Monochromia” exhibition. It includes words by five Ukrainian artists of the “Alliance 22” group, including the works of Tibeiy Silvashi – the classic of Ukrainian abstract art. The exposition also includes the works by Serhiy Momota, Badri Gubianuri, Constantine Rudeshko and Serhiy Popov.

The “Alliance 22” has been active for four years. The group is, first of all, a gathering of abstract artists, experimenters in the realm of monochrome art. Nevertheless, their projects are not limited to paintings, and often feature musicians and philosophers. The exhibitions of “Alliance 22” are a fixture in Kyiv. Last autumn, the group was presented at the Vienna Contemporary, a debut on the international scene. The “Monochromia” exhibition is a presentation of the “Alliance 22” for the Berlin public, an acquaintance with its aesthetic principles and achievements. The Diehl plans on promoting Ukrainian art in Germany. Personal exhibitions of the “Alliance 22” members will be held here beginning September.
