The Inner World is a work dedicated to the central image of all works by Roman Minin, the miner. A monochrome bas-relief depicts the protagonist’s mind and life symbolically; it is divided into black and white, and its end is the light bursting from the lantern on his headpiece, earned through hard labor of his whole life. A laconic graphical solution used for the work adds to its expressivity and ease of interpretation. The way the author shows the sequence of events reminds of something archaic, icons depicting lives of saints or ancient reliefs, but at the same time his work is full of industrial and urbanist motives.
